All Hail One Tree Hill - still my top pick
Here is to One Tree Hill who just ended Season 4 - the Season Finale was shot almost as if they thought it may be canceled ;ending it with a scene that was a mirrored ending of the pilot episode. It rocked & if was going to be canceled it would have been the perfect ending.Thankfully it wasn't (or I would have started the peanut campaign) & it will be back for a 5th season. Interestingly it is not going to follow the gang to college...but pick up 4 years later. I love this idea...anyone who goes to college fails (Save By The Bell - The College Years, The O.C)
So if your not on the band wagon - jump aboard, there's room.
Underrated Shows (thanks Tivo)
I just wanted to say here is 3 under rated shows I think you'd like:
1) 30 ROCK - This show rocks...are you surprised with Tina Fey as one of the writers? Remember Mean Girls? This show is very funny....I'd say it could easily rivals The Office.
All the characters are good - especially Alec Baldwin who won an Emmy for it. (He deserved it).
Here is a link to 10 best moments in 30 Rock: humor me and at least watch the #1 Birthday Party with Paul Rebens (Pee Wee Herman) and TRY not to laugh.
http://www.cracked.com/index.php?name=News&sid=2100
2) BONES - its a procedural/CSI how did this person die type show by looking at the bones- BUT I find it funnier & lighter & less dramatic.
Its got a great friendship/could they become something more kinda tension between the two lead characters that never quite get to that point or any type a romance....The supporting characters are all different & you like them.
Easy just to tune in & watch - & wraps up in one neat little hour.

Agree, Disgree - did I miss a show I should know about?

3) How I Met Your Mother - ahhh..the classic half hour sit-com with a laugh track...you don't see them anymore.
....But I actually finding myself laughing along with it. Its cute & Doogie Howser is amazing as a egotistical womanizing jerk. Who would have thought he could pull it off? And he sells it well!
Again another show you can just tune in & not have to know whats going on from the start...its kinda a nice change.

Agree, Disgree - did I miss a show I should know about?

The newest addition to the Bravener clan

Alright guys, after an agonizing 12 weeks of keeping this secret, its official. I'M PREGNANT.
This is the first photo of baby Bravener. I know, doesn't look like much, in fact, i think it looks like an Alien!
Baby is due into this world December 28th! Which means he was conceived before Mexico. Thankfully, i didn't know and was still able to get one last week of hard core drinking in. Don't worry, Doctor says it wont affect the baby at all!

New Shows
Well, I've been watching tons of the pilot episodes for this Fall's TV season. There are a few okay shows, and a lot of ones that you know won't be renewed!! Here are a few samplings:
Bionic Woman - I thought this one would really suck, but I was pleasantly surprised to look at the clock on the DVD player and realize the episode was nearly done! (I'm usually watching the clock and counting down to the end of it). This one might actually make a next season.
K-Ville - A drama about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. This has a nice storyline, but I'm not sure that Canadians care. This one is hit-or-miss. If there's nothing else on I might watch it, but probably not. Would be better off as a made-for-TV movie.
Back To You - this comedy stars Kelsey Grammar and Patricia Heaton. Ryan and I watched it together and both laughed out loud. This one will probably see another season.
Cashmere Mafia - this is an updated version of Sex and the City - almost exactly! Lucy Liu stars as one-in-a-group-of-four. Women will love this one.
Big Bang Theory - this is a comedy about two geeks who live next door to a bombshell (the oldest blonde girl from 8 Simple Rules). This was cute, but I don't see it lasting too long.
Canterbury's Law - this is a lawyer show starring Juliana Marguilles. Same old law stuff. Don't see it lasting
Cavemen - this one was crap. I thought the trailers looked funny, but it's not.
Carpoolers - Please give this one a chance and watch it this fall! It's basically The Office, but set in a car. I've never heard phrases like, "the Fancy Carpoolers" and "the Geizer Carpoolers" before, and it's funny!
Sam I Am - this one hasn't been picked up in Canada, but will air on ABC this fall. It's cute - about a girl who has amnesia and is trying to piece her life back together.
Dr. 90210 - this is all about plastic surgery. I loved it.
Sunset Tan - this is basically the Hills, but set in a Tanning salon. Sort of a cross between Miami Ink and the Hills. Love it.
Journeyman - this is about a guy who goes back in time and helps to change the course of people's lives. I hated this for the first 40 minutes, but it all comes full circle by the end of the episode. That said, I don't think people will stick with the pilot that long to find out, so it will likely bomb.
Life - this one sucks. About a cop who wrongly went to jail and is now out. Total crap. They should've at least got a leading man who was good looking, and maybe it would've stood a chance.
Viva Laughlin - Mel hated this one, but I LOVE it! It's based on a british show (Viva something-or-other). This one is set in Laughlin (near Vegas), and follows the star who is opening a Casino. It includes singing and dancing as part of the show. Sort of a made-for-TV mini-musical series. Hugh Jackman makes guest appearances (I think he's a producer too). I'm iffy on whether this show will be renewed or not, but I think the old ladies (AKA: ME) will like it.
Enjoy!!

Canwest/Global Launch
Canwest (Global) was held in the morning, as they always do, and it kills our entire work day! It was held at Massey Hall (which has the worst seats in history, FYI). It was LONG (I had to go to the bathroom SO bad!). They had some stars - the only one I can really remember now is Ryan Seacrest who helped 'host' part of the presentation.
They are launching E! channel (they're converting CH), and it will be a girly station with lots of new shows. A few are okay, a bunch are crap!
The presentation followed with a reception at Dundas Square under a tent. Drinks and food. It was cold and we went back to work after about an hour.

CTV Launch
Okay, so I'm a smidgen behind, but I've been busy! Here are the goods:
CTV was the typical 'look at us, we're the best' presentation. It was short and sweet, which was FANTASTIC! They had a few stars: Kate Walsh, Degrassi cast, Shemar something-or-other. It was held at the new Opera house and it's gorgeous! The seats are nice and roomy, and there's TONS of leg room. Stars I don't care about, but leg room I sure do! Oh yeah, some NFL coach was there with the Vince Lombardi trophy too - that was pretty cool.
They opened the 'show' with a CTV version of So You Think You Can Dance. They brought in six dancers from the show (including Dmitry and the guy who won it), and had 5 top media executives secretly take dancing lessons and compete. It was hilarious! One of them is on youtube - here's the path. Watch it, it's funny! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWjUmTehjBA
Afterwards there was drinks and h'ors deouvres. They had ballet dancers dancing. They had scantily-clad models being body painted (creepy). I was hot and tired and left after about 45 minutes.
Old lady Saulters - that's me!

Veronica Mars - New Supergirl?
This one is for Leslie the Smallville fan
Despite Veronica Mars fans sending marshmallows & Mars bars to The CW to save VM - The creator has announced Veronica Mars officially dead....boo...great show. But apparently she is still under contact with the CW & Smallville has just announced Supergirl will be flying in shortly??mmm...coincidence? Is it possible? We'll have to wait & see.

Tell me what you want, what you really really want!

Alright girls.........they're back!
According to people.com Spice Girls are planning a Christmas reunion, which includes a world tour. Now, i will be first to admit i was a huge fan and stole all my sisters Spice Girl albums. Their songs were catchy, fun and you could dance to all of them!
As for took so long? Blame Mel C. and they fact that they are all baby machines right now!
Not one of these girls had a good solo career, i think i remember some catchy Ginger songs, (Its Raining Men, Look at me) but that's it!
I hope you all join me when they come to concert....i need people to go with! That is hoping they come here.
The greatest news.......EVER!!!
It's official - Paris is back in the slammer baby!

After being ordered to the court today for her hearing (and showing up almost 2 hours late, after having her hair/makeup people come to her house...) She was sent back to the slammer to serve the remainder of her sentence!
Apparently she was physically escorted out of the courtroom...screaming the whole time. I cannot tell you how bad I want to see that footage!
PS - I love that pic so much. Is it wrong if i put it on my facebook?

Looks like Isaiah Washington is kicked off the show!
http://entertainment1.sympatico.msn.ca/Isaiah+Washington+fired+from+Greys+Anatomy/TV_Guide/TVNews/Articles/070608_washingtonfired_GD.htm?isfa=1
I wonder if this is real, or if it's just a stunt to cause some publicity around the show?

What do you think about this?

Word on the street is that Ciniplex Odeon Theatres is in talks with the province to begin selling wine and beer in the movie theatres.
So for those who cant watch a movie without a drink, your dreams may be coming true! Who knows how long this will last, or if it will even ever happen.
For me, personally, i think the idea is dumb and i wouldnt buy a drink. Id probably end up peeing about 3 times during the movie after one beer!

you have GOT to be kidding me.
Paris Hilton has been released from jail.
She served 3 days out of her sentence.
What a crock of shite!!
Apparently they put her away to prove a point....instead they just made themselves look like dumbasses.
What a joke!
Put her back in!!!

Thundercats - Next to get a movie
Sing with me - Thunder Thunder Thundercats!Studio has optioned a script by tyro scribe Paul Sopocy to turn the popular 1980s animated series and toy line into a CGI-animated feature.
Property revolves around a group of humanoid cats (with feline names like Lion-O, Tygra, Panthro and Cheetara) who must flee their planet of Thundera after it's destroyed. Once crash-landing on another planet, Third Earth, they must thwart Mumm-Ra, an evil sorcerer, bent on killing them off.
Sopocy has written the script as an origin story expanding on the major heroes and villains from the animated series, with the plot focusing on Lion-O coming of age as the leader of the Thundercats.

Hey Tea drinkers - Teapot is healthier for you-
The traditional way of making tea in a pot is healthier than dunking a bag in a cup, according to scientists
Previous research found antioxidants in tea could help protect against things like cancer and heart disease.
Now scientists in Aberdeen have shown that a cuppa only gets the maximum amount of these chemicals when the tea is given proper time to brew.

Chum Party
Last night was the Chum party, held at This Is London. They had hourly draws to spin a wheel for cash (no one I know won - darn it!) Lots of drinks, little food, plenty of dancing. My feet are killing and my headache is slowly starting to catch up with them.
Can't wait for a caesar at lunch!!
CTV is next Monday (my first day at work at my new job - how awkward!). That's the launch that always has the most stars, so there will be plenty of news to share then, and hopefully some pictures too!
