Harry Potter the Theme Park - Coming soon

Today Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and Universal Orlando Resort (Universal Studios Orlando), announced a 787 acre Harry Potter Theme Park. They will call it “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” which will be comprised of the village of Hogsmeade, the mysterious Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts castle, Hogswart express, rides, shops, restaurants, interactive attractions an much more.

Construction is said to begin next month, June 2007, and open in late 2009. Production designer Stuart Craig of the Harry Potter films will be lead man in designing “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter”, to maintain it’s authenticity to the major motion pictures.

CBC Launch

Well, CBC was held at the CBC building. How original. Pretty much to be expected.

However, that's where the ho-hum nature of the presentation stopped. I was very surprised (and, frankly, shocked) at some of the new programs they have coming up for next year.

The presentation was hosted by George Stromboulopoulos, and at times it was extremely awkward (like a couple of the execs stumbling through lines nervously - extremely awkward).

An extremely shocking clip was shown for a new show, 'the Tudors'. This program has already run in the States on Showtime, to much success. The clip was like watching Nip/Tuck, but set in the 16th century. The story follows the early reign of Henry VIII. Smutty as I am, I know I'll love it.

Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan will be hosting a Canadian reality show in which contestants face a fear/do something they've always wanted to do in 72 hours. Apparently after a near-life experience at the age of 19 he realized he needed to live life to the fullest, which is what contestants will get to do on this program, called "No Opportunity Wasted".

The presentation was followed by cocktails and h'ors deouvres in a studio converted to look surprisingly very nice. They had an acrobat performing on a bar in the middle of the room, and followed with a performance by Raine Maida.

TV's New Low - Reality Show To Win A Kidney

A Dutch TV station says it will go ahead with a programme in which a terminally ill woman selects one of three patients to receive her kidneys - somehow this seems very very wrong.

How does a sick woman chose who gets her kidney? What kind of obstacles will the contestants have do? - What's wrong with whoever is next on the list gets it when she pass & how do you tell two other terminally ill people 'sorry - you didn't win because don't like the looks of you, or like that one friend of yours, or whatever the case may be??

Seems very very wrong.

The 37-year-old donor, identified only as Lisa, will make her choice based on the contestants' history, profile and conversation with their family and friends.Viewers will also be able to send in their advice by text message during the 80-minute show.

Launch Season Is Here!!!

Alright - my clothes are bought and ready, my shoes shined and liver prepped. Tonight marks the start of the Television Fall Schedule Preview Season in Canada.

Tonight is CBC - held at the studio in the CBC building downtown. The presentation (most likely hosted by George Stromboulopoulos) will be followed by a performance by Our Lady Peace's Raine Maida.

Stay tuned for all the news tomorrow (although I'm sure there won't be much to tell).

Tomorrow morning is a breakfast for Tele-Quebec (a French network), so I won't bore you with that unless something surprisingly exciting happens. Thursday is the Chum party, held at This Is London. As it is the evening before my last day of work there will likely be many stories of stumbling to share on Friday - or whenever I recover enough to type.

Lost - Best Season Finale

Whatever critics said about Lost at the beginning of the season - are back on board because the season finale was the craziest show yet - & yes I was wrong - Locke is not dead.

It had great twists with Flash forwards into the future instead of flash backs ...so looks like they get off the island....but more questions - Why does Jack want to get back after wanting off for so long? Who is Kate with? ...oh man....we have to wait till next January to find out.

I have to say it was refreshing after Grey's & Heroes finales were so disappointing.

Ok if you haven't started watching the office yet - get going - its good.

For those who do - we watched Karen & Jim date all season, while Pam hung back...we'll in the season finale we see Jim ask Pam to dinner...this is the sweetest love triangle on TV. Get with it!

I was driving into work tonight and heard the song "Must Have Been Love" by Roxette and instantly thought of Pretty Women, when he drives back in the Limo to get Vivian...the best part of the movie! I know I'm not alone as i think we all loved that movie!! SOOO, since i drive an hour into work, i began to think of all the movie songs that i love to hear.

Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver are working with Mattel to turn "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" into a live-action film.

CW & Kevin Smith - a match made in heaven

I was getting worried about the CW network (home of One Tree Hill) after cancelling their big draw shows.

You know I'm a big Kevin Smith fan. The CW just gave a nod to a new show called 'The Reaper' directed by Kevin Smith.

PLOT: this humor-filled adventure is the story of a slacker named Sam (Bret Harrison, "The Loop," "Grounded for Life") who learns that his parents accidentally sold his soul to the devil before he was born, forcing him into a new life as the devil's bounty hunter. Ray Wise ("24," "The Closer") plays Satan, and Tyler Labine ("Boston Legal," "Invasion") plays Sam's best friend Bert "Sock" Wysocki.

HI Everyone!

Now that all our shows have left us till the fall, I've been seeing some shows advertised that i thought i would recommend for us to watch this summer. I've compiled a list and hope you all join me in watching some trashy TV all summer!!

Please add more if you think there are other shows that we should be watching until McDreamy comes back in 4 months....

1. Big Brother Season 8-CBS
-Because of the popularity of the show Big Brother, CBS has just recently ordered an eighth installment of the show that will premiere in July 2007.The much-awaited Big Brother season 8 will continue to have the same format just like previous installments of the show. In addition, the show will continue to be hosted by Julie Chen.
OMG, cant wait for this, i just love the smut and cheating that goes on in this house!

2. Pirate Master-CBS
-16 modern-day pirates as they embark on a high seas adventure around the Caribbean island of Dominica in search of hidden treasure that will total $1 million. Over the course of 33 days, the pirates will live aboard a massive 179-foot pirate ship. Each week, these buccaneers will go on extraordinary expeditions and decipher clues along the way. Gold coins - real money that the pirates can take with them beyond the show - will be awarded after each treasure hunt, but only to some. Somewhat like Survivor, I'm going to give it a try

3. Hidden Palms
-Johnny Miller was a happy, well-adjusted 15-year-old with good grades and a roomful of sports trophies until the terrible night his father committed suicide. Now, one year later, Johnny lives in the surreal, sun-drenched city of Palm Springs with his mother and her new husband. On the outside, Palm Springs is a shimmering paradise of resorts, swimming pools, golf courses and country clubs. I'm guessing this will be like the O.C which wasn't that bad, more addicting once you got into it, which could be the same for this one.

Grey's Season Finale

So Grey's went out with a weird bang.....so
-Burke left Christina at the alter, (Is he gone for good after his gay remark this year?)
-Meridith making everything about her...no shocker there.
- George failed his intern test
- Callie got the Chief of the hospital - that was a shock

- Meridith & McDreamy are over - is that right? Can someone else verify??

OK so the end was good - I like they are bring on some new blood..all the new interns - one being Lexi Grey, if I'm correct she's the half sister that doesn't know about Meridith? Correct?(sorry I missed half the season because of floor hockey).


The other question is, is Preston gone for good? I hope not. I like the two together. And you know what - I really like the Chief. I want him to stay.

So what does everyone else think? Phil walked in near the end of the show...then said 'How can you watch this, its so depressing'....he was right. It was nothing but depressing, sad news.

I'm upset - What About Brian has been cancelled. If they had a better time slot I think they would have done better. They only ranked 2 million viewers - I didn't think that was bad?

I have to say none of the new shows sound appealing - for example - would you rather watch a show about a cavemen in the now? Go watch Encino man if you do. Boo.

48 hours for Jack Bauer

It looks like Jack Bauer will get to save the day 2 more times. Fox has renewed the Emmy-winning 24 starring Kiefer Sutherland through the 2008-09 season. Sutherland has a contract to produce/star in the show through 2009.

No word yet on what creative direction the show will take. The sixth and latest season has received criticism for being subpar in quality and direction as compared to the show’s prior seasons.

Is Spin off the new thing? Heroes is next

Is it just me - or wasn't spin off created when a series was dying? Now it seems to be the big thing - First the Grey's spin off...but now they're planning a Heroes spin off

NBC execs will announce today at their annual upfront presentation in New York that they've been developing "Heroes: Origins," a spin-off series of this season's breakout hit that will, at least temporarily, replace "Heroes" on NBC's Monday night schedule.

The new show has been ordered for six episodes, and will introduce a completely new set of characters. The coolest part: In an effort to make the show interactive (and, I'm guessing, to squash what is going to be some griping by "Heroes" fans who are unhappy that the original show won't return in September), NBC will ask fans to vote on which is the new characters is their favorite, and that character will then become a regular cast member on the original series.

Private Practice is a Go -

Looks like the Addison Spin off - Private Practice - was given the green light. It will be debuting in the fall. I guess we we'll see Addison leave soon...

My top 3 must NOT see....

Ok so further to Melissa's post...some movies are coming out this summer that look great, and then others that....well....not so much....

Here are the 3 movies I won't be watching this summer...or ever....

3. Rush Hour 3: All I know about this movie is the one dude is highly annoying (his voice is like nails on a chalkboard) and Jackie Chan is quite possibly the worst actor ever. and the ninja moves are just stupid. Seriously. unless its chris farley...then it's just funny! i would like to give a swift roundhouse to whoever thought it would be a good idea to make a third installement of this....let alone a first or a second...

2. Live free or Die Hard: I won't see this movie because the title itself is hellagay. I mean come on. Maybe i have to be a guy to understand or appreciate this one, i don't know. Plus how old is Bruce Willis these days, like 65?? And when was the last one made, 1987? Is this like some sort of 20th anniversary special? It's worse than the last Rocky they made...

1. Evan Almighty: Where do i even start with this one. Did no one watch Bruce Almighty? Worst. movie. ever. who are these dumbasses in hollywood-land that think it's a good idea to make a sequel from a craptastic movie. Judging from the 2 minute trailer for this movie that so horribly ran during 'The Office'....this one will top it on the crap ladder. sweet mother it looks horrible. He builds an ark because theres a huge lame, very fake and badly animated flood. WTF?!? Why Steve Carell.....why?!?!



Close runner-up....The Hostel 2. Man did that first one ever scar me....Almost as much as 'The HIlls have eyes'.....

RIP - Locke?

Lost fans got a shock when Ben shot Locke, leaving him to die in a pit where he had killed the people from the Dharma initiative years before.

Locke was my favourite character so I was pretty upset - I believe has been killed off...yet there has been rumbling (I'm looking Wendy & Phil's way) that they don't believe he has met his demise.

Time will tell and we'll see who is right.

1) Shrek 3 - I loved Shrek...was scared to see Sherk 2 because - well sequels usually suck ..but turned out to be just as good & clever as the first - so I'm on board to check out the third. I saw baby Shrek dolls being advertised at Toy R Us - gives me an indication there may be an apperance of a baby in the third movie. Also John Krasinski, (Jim from The Office) has a voice role as Lancelot.

2) Knocked Up - Love Seth Rogen & Jay Baruchel(both Canadian & former Undeclared cast mates), & it looks like a genuinely funny movie. See trailer below.

3) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - I always enjoy the Potter movie & the story is getting better & better. I think my mid-June Pottermania will be full swing with the movie & book being released within days of each other. Cant wait!

I'm not...Simpson's are great in there own right...but I have many other movies I'd rather see & can see them anytime in 1/2 hr neatly finnished episodes..That's why I think this movie may flop after its opening week....

Next Powers Will Be Evil

Mike Myers, creator of the Austin Powers film franchise, told SCI FI Wire that he definitely wants to make another movie and will get to it after he finishes his next project, called The Love Guru. And it might focus on Austin's nemesis, Doctor Evil. "I have figured out that the story will be taken from the point of Doctor Evil," Myers said in an interview while promoting Shrek the Third. "It will be powered from Doctor Evil's point of view." Myers added: "That will be the first of a trilogy. ... I'm just joking! ... I haven't figured it all out. Who knows?" Doctor Evil is one of many characters Myers played in the previous Austin Powers movies. In the last one, 2002's Austin Powers in Goldmember, Doctor Evil became a good guy and passed the baton of evil to his son (Seth Green). "It takes three and a half to four years for me to do a movie, and it has to be something I'm feeling passionate about at the time, and so I may go into that after The Love Guru," Myers said. Carrie and Joe became parents shortly after our return from Mexico....to an adorable lil' yellow lab named Roxy. All are doing well if not a little tired....apparently the wee one is keeping them on their toes!

'Lost' finds an end date: Three more years on ABC

I'm finally back to post on the blog!!! Good timing too: at the end of May/beginning of June we have our swanky launch parties for all of the TV stations - and I'll also have all of the pilots of all the new shows for next fall. I'll be able to post tons of new info for next year!

"Lost" fans forever moaning about the lack of answers on the hit ABC drama will finally get some closure. They'll just have to wait three more years.The network and the show's executive producers have reached a deal that will extend "Lost" through three more 16-episode seasons, at which point the drama will end. The show will air straight through without repeats, likely premiering during first quarter each year and allowing ABC to make more of an event out of the show. In addition, ABC Television Studio signed show runners Damon Lindelof, who wrote the pilot with J.J. Abrams, and Carlton Cuse to multi-year deals. The pair had been saying for several months that they wanted to set an end date to the mystery show, ensuring viewers that twisty plotlines would not be carrying on forever and thus lead to more viewer drainoff. The show's ratings have dipped markedly since it moved from Wednesdays at 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. this year, hitting series lows for viewers and adults 18-49 the past few weeks. But it remains the highest-rated 10 p.m. show on any network, and still ranks in the top 10 for the season in 18-49s. And even a diluted "Lost" is still valuable for ABC, as the show indexes highly among high-income houses and remains the network's third-highest-rated drama behind "Desperate Housewives" and "Grey's Anatomy." It's also one of the most popular shows recorded on digital video recorders.

Poor Paris...NOT

Paris Hilton has finally broken her self-imposed silence since she was sentenced to spend 45 days in jail this summer (woo hoo) for violating the terms of her probation stemming from her DUI arrest late last year. Remember, she was caught drinking and driving and lost her license. After her license was suspended, she was caught not once, but TWICE, driving without a license.

The reasons why Paris thinks she was sentenced: (in her own words)

1. I feel that I was treated unfairly, and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted. I don't deserve this, I was treated unfairly because of who i am (um, who are you again??)
2. I think I get in more trouble just because of who I am. "The cops do it all the time. They'll just pull me over to hit on me. It's really annoying. They're like, 'What's your phone number? Want to go to dinner?' "They just pull me over, and the paparazzi, of course, take a picture. All the time. I have so many cops' business cards. (um, who doesn't??)


I'm sorry, but i just love the fact that she is going to jail!! She is pretty much a waste in society. She contributes nothing, doesn't work, lives off her parents $$ and just parties. So do i think she needs a reality check?? HECK YES I DO! although many people believe she will get out of it! I believe her sentence is justified, she broke the law 3 times....anyone of us and we would have been prosecuted, so why should this rich bitch get a free ride in life!!

Any thoughts...? think the Hiltons will get her out of this....??

Melissa can't seem to post,,,so I offered to post for her. So, here's what she had to say:

So Wendy beat me to the Addison post: Here is my take on it all.

1) I didn't like the fact they advertised two hours of Grey's all week,showing clips...then boom -tune in to the Addison show. I love Addison, but they should have advertised it was the possible spin off episode - because its not like nobody hear about it. I still believe people would have tuned in to see it - to check it out.

2) I think they are making the spin off a lighter, more comedic version ofGrey's. (Maybe because of the L.A setting?). I think I will watch this show...granted the show is being bashed left, right & centre but - its only the 1st episiode. They have to set up story lines, etc.

3) I did like the Violet character - The one who ran into her Ex at the grocery store & wanted to die. I think she (Amy Brennan) was good. I also like the Cooper, the obvious comic relief. I like the possible love interest for her - he could be interesting.

I like the scene where the women watch the surfer cross the room - that was cute.

4) What I didn't like - I felt like they were trying to change the Addison character. Lets face it - on Grey she separate the girls (Izzy & Mer) from the women! I didn't like how all of a sudden she wanted a baby? Talking to the elevator? I felt like they were trying to make her....saint like? Like Sam was telling Peter to stay away because she was a good girl.....please..I like my Addison with ghosts in the closet. I'm glad she was driving back to Seatle at the end.

Dont like the surfer/older women story....

5) OK - Grey's ...I haven't watched in awhile. I'm missing something with the Mer/Derrick...odd friction....& I dont see that Meridith father even wanted to talk to her anyways...the slap was awesome though.

Bottom line : I will start off watching it....we'll see if it even runs with all the backlash its getting Ok - am I wrong?

Addison's Anatomy - No Thanks.

Did you guys see Grey's on Thursday? I'd say it was disapointing...but that would be an understatement. When I saw on my trusty PVR it was a 2 hour episode i got super excited...but after watching it i feel kind of used...tricked....almost dirty...Those jerks blatantly tricked us into watching Addison's spin-off, I am so pissed!! I have been disapointed about the whole spin-off crap since the minute i heard about it, but to mislead us into thinking we're watching an episode of Grey's when it's just some cheesey ass second hand material?!? Did I mention I thought it was lame? Very, very lame?? Am I alone here?

the nice weather is finally HERE!

Hello my dear blog friend,

It was brought to my attention that we have been neglecting our blog. So I thought I'd post a Top 5 things you like to do in the summer. Ok, so it may not be the most exciting or original post,,,but give me a break,,,,I don't see too many other posts lately.

So,,,let me start off with 5 and I look forward to hearing what you look forward to this summer.

5) Roller blading: Once the nice weather hits, I like to do activities that are outdoors rather than indoors,,,so instead of doing my pilates (which ok, I haven't been doing, but you get the idea) I will start rollerblading on our bike trails in Cornwall! Youpee!

4) Hiking: Yep, it really is just walking,,,but I like organizing with a few friends,,,,a weekend or day trip in Algonquin park or the Adirondacks.

3) Baseball/softball: I just found out that I'll be able to get into the team I was with last year. We had a great time,,,and the beers after the game just make it that more enjoyable.

2) Drinks on the patio: I don't think I have to say too much here,,,,cold beer, sitting out on the patio in the sun,,,,how nice! I can't wait to get out of this stuffy office!

And,,,for my #1 thing I like to do in the summer....

1) CONCERTS: I absolutely love how there are concerts to go to during the summer,,,which make it all the more exciting and fun to celebrate the nice weather. Whether it's bluesfest where you get to see a few different bands throughout the week,,,or times where I went to Edgefest...but I love almost anything and everything about outdoor concerts!

So,,,I'm sure you can come up with a better list,,,,I'm just waiting to hear it so I can steal some ideas and have an even better summer this year.
