The Oscars this year should have been exciting considering there was no real clear cut winner in any category. All awards were up for grabs but it was boring & uneventful (uneventful in the - no Cuba Gooding Jr. kinda speech - except for the ' Valium does work' guy).
They missed TomKat on the red carpet, No Brangelina...and no Rachael McAdams??
Ellen did a good job - liked how she touched on the racist & gay comments flying this year with a joke...but I miss the Billy Crystalesq opening movie sequence with all the top movies.
Other Gossip:
Eddie Murphy after losing to Alan Arkin, took off from the awards & didn't stay to see his co-star Jennifer Hudson win. Maybe he'll win next year for Norbit

Haha. Norbit. Well - I have to agree with you PofP, I wasn't too entertained save for Ryan's constant racist remakes, Pam's refusal to say that Portuguese people are far superiour to Western Canadians, Lanny's constant stroking of the Yorkie, and Adri's drunken touching...
I was only able to stay up until 10pm since I was up until 5am the previous night or I guess I should say that morning...so I'm glad to hear that I didn't miss much. I do like Ellen's humour so I still got a few good laughs out of it. Boo for Eddie Murphy if he left after not winning.
I thought the Oscar sucked ... it was still fun though, regardless of how crappy Ellen was and how boring the speeches were.
