Little Miss Sunshine? Can I get a second opinoin

So Little Miss Sunshine had been all the rage - Was it that good? I though it was OK, not fabulous just OK. Good story -OK. Cute, innocent kid -OK. Good characters - yup.

Does Abigail Breslin deserve an Oscar nod for this? I didn't think so. For god sakes she was on Oprah today.
I do feel Alan Arkin (the Grampa) does rightfully deserve the Oscar nod. He was the best character & had the best lines. (He's also known as the Police Captain from So I Married An Axe Murder)

But am I alone in this? Did anybody really love this movie?

i thought it was wonderful.
not award-garnerning great, but the SAG ensemble award may have been warranted.

the young girl is simply a continuation of the Oscar's long-standing fixation with recognizing young actresses. doubt she has even the slightest chance of winning, however

i thought it was a great movie!

i love how it broke the standards and didn't have the typical cookie cutter storyline and the happy feel good ending. the more i think about it...the more i loved it! Totally agree they were worthy of the SAG ensemble award, each character was great in its own way. i saw them all on Ellen one day. I loooooove Steve Carrell!

I thought it was awesome ... I'd even go so far as to say hilarious. I have a feeling that it's one of those movies that you like more every time you watch (like Best In Show).

I think she deserves an Oscar nomination.

Speaking of Oscars - has anyone seen 'Thank You For Smoking'? I think the writers of that deserve an Oscar for sure.

I'm behind on my movies,,,so I have yet to watch this one. Incidentally, Thank you for smoking is also on my list of "movies to watch". I did catch the Ellen talk show where they interviewed the cast,,,and have been interested in watching the movie ever since. Great cast,,,I'll have to get back to you on your question though.
