Private Practice - This week

Hereos starts tomorrow

New Grey's Thursday

& New Grey's spin off Private Practice starts Wednesday

I'm totally checking out Private Practice, since I think this may be a make or break year for Grey's after losing Isiah Washington, bringing on new Interns (Mer's half sister), & the possible break of McDreamy & Meridith.

Who's watching what?

Fish Training

September = New TV shows

Ahh..Tivo is great - why? Because with all the hype of shows I can tape them & check them out. If I like them I keep recording them, if not - delete!

Last week I taped 2 shows: The much hyped Gossip Girl & Kid Nation

Gossip Girl is based on teen books about spoiled, rich kids in New York. (Back in the day we had the Babysitters club...Babysitting to Bitches - has things changed so much?)

It the same producers from the O.C. - so its pretty good drama (cat fight & backstabbing on the first episode) although not as good dialogue.

Its about a popular girl (chick from Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants & Accepted with Justin Long) coming back to town after running away a year ago. No one knows why she left (slept with best frenemy's BF) - all news is narrated by Gossip Girl who write on her blog about all the high school gossip - Interesting Premises. I like it - so I'll keep watching to see where it goes.

Kid Nation - with all the hype it wasn't kids going crazy, drinking bleach. It was more of a survivor for kids. They get 4 leaders & divide into four divisions - they compete to see what jobs they get - like cooking, merchants, laundry, etc. They get paid of their jobs, etc. The kids talk to the camera & they make it sound like they are there trying to prove kids can manage - so you don't feel bad for them or anything.

It was interesting - The kids have a town meeting at the end of every show & if they want to go home they can. The youngest went home, he was 8. Which I think is pretty young to go. Some of the kids are annoying, but you just know the parents just wanted a vacation for 40 days.

Did anybody else watch these shows? What did you think? Yay or Nay?

New Couple Alert

It seems love is once again in the air for Drew Barrymore. From Luke Wilson to Tom Green and Fabbrizo, to Spike Jonze...
Her latest conquer???
JUSTIN LONG.
I must say i am a huge Justin fan. I think he is super cute in the Mac commerical and hilarious in Dodge ball and Accepted. Very good choice on Drew's behalf!

Crazy kid - Gets a show - Cant I have a Show too?

So this kid Pam posted the You Tube video crying for Britney - is getting his own show!!

Yes, that’s right — the plan is to develop a “docusoap” (read: totally scripted drama, just like his video) built around Crazy Chris, a 19-year-old who lives with his grandparents in Tennessee. Even before the Britney clip, Chris had developed a mind-bogglingly large audience from a bunch of video “performances” posted on MySpace and YouTube.0

“It’s going to pretty much be the ‘Chris Crocker experience,’” a producer told Variety. “We consider him a rebel character that people will find interesting. He’s going to be a TV star.”

Man...anyone can get on TV these days eh?

Bell Sympatico had one weakness...

So I spent my previous week checking in with bell sympatico daily to create an e-mail address for my parents. But the creation pages on Bell's server were always down and I didn't feel like spending hours on hold calling them from work. So I decided to contact them via live chat support...after their reps idled out of conversations 4 plus times I decided to ask them for help in one area they're good at:

Saturday night comes....the resolution? I open up a Gmail account....

Want to be in a movie?

Will Ferrell is auctioning off a part in his new movie. The winner of the auction will have a cameo role in new movie ‘Step Brothers’.

Ferrell has launched the auction to help his ex-fraternity brother Craig Pollard fundraise for his Cancer for College foundation. The two originally met when they both attended the University of Southern California.

Online bidding began on Monday from an opening bid of $5,000 and will end on September 26th, with the winner announced the following day.

‘Step Brothers’ stars Ferrell and John C.Reilly as two spoiled guys, who become increasingly competitive after their single parents get hitched and they become step brothers. Filming begins in October.

That would be cool if I had money to burn.

Kid Nation

A lot of controversy around this program - premieres this week. A clip below. Should be interesting!

New talk that controversy was as PR stunt to create talk around the program. Interesting.

Child exploitation or no?

Britney vs Christina

Such similar beginnings:
- Both started on Mickey Mouse Club
- Both had their premiere pop cds released in the same year
- One dated the other toured with J.T
- while Christina went a little 'Dirrty' , Britney was trying not a girl but not yet a woman phase.
Then....
Brit - one quickie Vegas marriage, another marriage to a gold digger & had two kids
Chris - cleaned up the act, got married & child on the way
One just blew a big MTV comeback with a mess of a show & looking like white trash - the other hitting huge at the Emmy's looking classy (probably best dress of the night) & singing duet with Tony Bennett
Mmm....Brit should take some lessons, someone has done it the right way

Do you think? Really?

Ok - so out of all the girls on Grey's Izzie is my least favourite.

I can't explain why - I just like the other characters better.

She won an Emmy for supporting actress in a Drama up against -
Rachel Griffiths (as Sarah Whedon) in "Brothers & Sisters", Chandra Wilson (as Dr. Bailey) in "Grey’s Anatomy",
Sandra Oh (as Cristina Yang) in "Grey’s Anatomy",
Aida Turturro (as Janice Soprano) in "The Sopranos".
Strong category - She would have been my last pick.
Do you think she deserved it? Or is she riding the tide because knocked up did so well & they think she'll be America's next sweetheart?
Also I'm not a fan of the dress. It did warm my heart to see her and George have such a warm hug before she went to collect. Nice to know they are friends in real life. I like that.

Canadian Idol Finale

Well, last night was a big night in Canadian television... the Canadian Idol Finale. I was fortunate enough to go to the event, and even got to bring Easton's babysitter (a HUGE Idol fan). I'm even luckier that Melissa was a great friend and watched the little man for me.

The night was great, although extremely long (two hours). The first 'real' performer was Avril. As much bad press she gets, and as brutal as we all think she is, sk8r girl can SING! There's no sound room editing for her, I'm sure. She was great. Huge fake smile though - um, awkward!

Then there was my love: Bon Jovi. Wow. Amazing. First performance for Canadian television, EVER. History. Witnessed by moi. Wow. He's gorgeous - somehow has managed to age gracefully and has gotten hotter and hotter. Have I said Wow yet?! Cutest bum EVER. *sigh*

Okay - back to work I go! I hope he looked and sounded as fantastic on air as live!

I Thought My Dog had it Good

THE pet dog of billionaire hotelier Leona Helmsley has been bequeathed $14.6 million in the will of the woman dubbed the "Queen of Mean''.

Trouble, a tiny Maltese terrier, received the enormous trust fund after Helmsley, who died last week at the age of 87, cut two of her grandchildren out of her $US4 billion fortune.
The trust fund was created to care for the beloved dog, who once starred in advertisements for the Helmsley Hotels.

The luxury hotel queen even stipulated Trouble be buried beside her and her husband Harry in a five-star mausoleum that will be maintained with a $3 million perpetual-care trust.
The dog gets $14 Million - wow

She makes it so easy to hate her!

I love to rag on Avril - but she makes it so easy.

If you haven't read her 10 commandments yet - read them her:

http://avrilgroupie.com/2007/09/06/avril-in-britains-q-magazine/

She comes off as the most spoiled & egotistical poser ever.

hey - I'm not the only one who rags on her - check out what Lainey - has to say - Its awesome!!

Avril quote:
"I am a very giving person. When the hurricane thing happened [in New Orleans, August 2005], I went to my closet, filled six boxes of stuff and said to my assistant, 'Take it to Katrina!' I also like to give stuff to people who are my 'workers', especially if they don't make much money."

My “workers”??? MY WORKERS??? Thousands of people lost their homes, they were displaced, their lives were ruined…and her big contribution is six boxes handed over to her assistant and hand me downs to her “workers”? Bitch needs a slapping, non?

http://www.laineygossip.com/Avril_Lavignes_Ten_Commandments.aspx

LOL - that cracks me up - I guess all those Katrina people got 6 boxes of neck ties. I also love how she gives stuff to her workers since they don't make much -maybe the millionaire could give the poor people a raise some time?
