Reports are flying around that Owen Wilson tried to kill himself yesterday by slashing his wrists and overdosing on pills. Luckily, a family member found him and he was taken to the hospital where he has been 'detoxed' and under observation.

I wonder what makes a person as successful and popular as Owen try to hurt himself. I hope it wasn't the break up of him and Kate.

Veronica Mars on Hereos Season 2

Sit down, TV fans, we've got some life-changing news for you. NBC announced today that Kristen Bell, the gorgeous star of the tragically canceled Veronica Mars, has joined the cast of your favorite show, Heroes, for a multi-episode arc.

According to E!, Kristen Bell will start on Heroes in October and we don't know a whole lot more than that but it could get very promising. NBC reports that Kristen Bell will play a sexy, intriguing, mysterious young lady named Elle who has ties to Peter (Milo Ventimiglia), Claire (Hayden Panettiere), and Claire's father (Jack Coleman). E! reports that Kristen Bell's character will debut by committing a terrible crime and could even be this year's Sylar, the big bad from season one.

High School Musical 2: Disney beats NFL with Most Watched Cable Event Ever

17.2 million viewers watched the Disney special “High School Musical 2″ this Friday, making it the most watch ever broadcast on basic cable. The previous record holder was the debut of “Monday Night Football” on ESPN in 2006 at 16 million veiwers.

And if you think that’s the only record it broke, think again.

1. The Disney Channel made-for-television movie “HSM” brought in the largest single audience in basic-cable television history.

2. It is also became the most watched movie to be shown on basic cable, previously held by TNT western “Crossfire Trail” at 15.5 million viewers in 2001.

Lord of the Flies in 2007

In september, there is a new show called Kid Nation coming out.

For those of you who haven’t read our Fall TV Guide preview of Kid Nation, the reality show’s premise is simple: take a group of kids, abandon them in a ghost town and, in the grandest Lord of the Flies tradition, leave them for 40 days to see what kind of society the wildlings create.

I don't know about you - but this sounds terribly scary & frighting to me.

I dont know if it will go to air considering it has been getting lots of bad press & The New York Times is reporting that at least one parent of a child who appeared on the show has complained to New Mexico officials regarding the treatment of the children during filming in that state. The incident drawing the most scrutiny revolves around a number of injuries that followed when a group of kids drank bleach that “had been left in an unmarked soda bottle”

yikes....who signed their kid up for this in the first place is what I'd like to know?

ET is reporting that Mandy Moore will guest star in an upcoming episode of the hit CBS comedy "How I Met Your Mother."

The show's executive producer, Carter Bays, gives ET some insight into Mandy's character, Amy.

"Ted is freshly single and on the rebound, and on his first night out, he meets Amy, the ultimate bad decision," explains Bays. "She's the tattooed, vodka-swilling trainwreck that Mandy Moore thankfully never turned into. We can't wait to see what Mandy does with it."
