Harry Potter - Book 7 finally named

Hey, hey Potter fans. Book 7 has been named: Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows.

Here is some bits of information I could find:
- speculation is that the book will be released 07/07/07
- their is significance Harry has his mother's eyes
- no book character will be returning from the future
- Aunt Petunia will never perform magic, but there is more to her than meets the eye
- The letter left with Harry on the doorstep was not the first letter received from Dumbledore
- Ravenclaw will have their day (doubt it)
- There is more to the sorting hat
- One of Harry's class mates becomes a teacher (Hermoine?)
- Harry becomes an unregistered animagus like his father, possibly a stag or phoenix
- Fred & George will be captured by Voldemort & he tells Harry he will only spare one of their lives (for a reasons unknown) as soon as Harry chooses George to die...Georges body becomes a new item that will help Harry kill Voldemort (not sure if this is true)

Grind House - double feature from Tarantino/Rodriguez

With 2007 comes new movies whether they are remakes, sequels, recycled ideas or originals.
My prediction is that Grind House is going to be a big hit.

Grind House is a two full length feature horror movies by Quentin Tarantino (Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs) & Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, From Dusk till Dawn). They are paying homage to exploitation B-movie slashers from the 70s & 80s. They've hired some B-actors too.

Death Proof is about a psycho stuntman who stalks & kills beautiful women.
Starring: Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson, Eli Roth & Sydney Tamiia Poitier

Trivia - Tarantino tried to cast Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar) & Sylvester Stallone in Death Proof
Planet Terror is about a small town where people start getting infected & a gun-legged woman & her martial arts-wielding partner take on the zombie army
Starring: Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez, Naveen Andrews (Lost), Fergie, Marley Shelton
Its a crazy concept with crazy plot lines, but these two guys have a huge following so I'm betting on this flick being a hit. (Kurt is probably hoping this will kick start a comeback ie- what Pulp Fiction did for Travolta). I'm loving the retro movie posters & watching out for the fake movie trailers.

Think this will be a hit - Agree or diagree?

Where they from?? Edition #4 Zooey Deschanel

Meet low budget movie & blockbuster sidekick, 'It' girl. Think of her as a younger, hipper Parker Posey. Her big break came as a groupie in 'Almost Famous'

Where you've seen her:
- Will Ferrell's crush as Jovie in 'Elf'
- Sidekick in movie like 'Failure to Launch' & 'The Good Girl'
- recently starred in 'Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy'& had a short sint on tv show Weeds

Next up:
- Starring as Janis Joplin in 'Gospel According to Janis'& Liza Minnelli in 'Simply Halston' with Brendan Fraser - two bio pics
- A teacher in the movie 'Bridge to Terabithia' which was one of my favorite books as a kid
- a comedy starring Luke Wilson who plays a man who after being attacked to realize that he's missing his family jewels. To make matters worse, he learns he's facing a paternity lawsuit filed by a woman he can't remember having sex with.

Trivia:
- Zooey is the sister of Emily Deschanel who stars on TV show BONES
- Is part of the cabaret group called 'If All the Stars Were Pretty Babies'
- Dated Jason Schwartzman for several years

My New Favourite Show

Well, I did it. Special Blog Friend, I am officially a Heroes groupie. Yep. I know. I believe on this very here blog I said Heroes was the gayest show on television. So, I guess that makes me gay. Well, here I am damnit! I am me.

First, let me say that Heroes does not usurp my favourite TV show of all freakin' time, Lost. Heroes lacks the mythology of Lost. Lost is my cerebral fix. Heroes is everything else sans the conspiracy theories and gut-wrenching cliff hangers (BTW - I am growing tired of not having my questions answered). Anyway. I decided to "acquire" the first 11 episodes of Heroes. I watched every episode in 3 sittings. I. Heart. Heroes.

Only problem with loving Heroes and it not exactly being the "thinking man's" show is that it doesn't leave much fodder for blog posts. So - instead I want to tell you that Ali Larter is smoking hot. Hiro Nakamura is crazy funny. Peter Petrelli is stupid and annoying. Claire Bennet is jail bait. Does anyone else think that the blond cop who works with Matt Parkman kinda looks like Julie Bowen?

Anyway, I can't write long posts about Heroes, but look for regular "Hiroism" posts in the New Year.

Oh ya, vote in Battle of the Babes!

Guess who I voted for!

Itsa Me! Mario!

I love Super Mario. I also love Grand Theft Auto. So, this video is the best of both worlds. Enjoy as Mario and Luigi enter the world of Vice City.

NEW YORK – James Brown's music career will come full circle when his body is brought to rest on the stage of the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, where he made his explosive debut, and the world changed to his beat.

The public will be permitted on Thursday to visit the Apollo to have one more look at a man who helped steer modern musical tastes toward rhythm-and-blues, funk, hip-hop, disco and rap, Rev. Al Sharpton said Tuesday. The reverend has been a close friend of Brown for decades.

"It would almost be unthinkable for a man who lived such a sensational life to go away quietly," Sharpton said in an interview from Georgia, where he was making funeral arrangements with Brown's children.

Sharpton said the public Apollo viewing will be followed by a private ceremony Friday in Brown's hometown, Augusta, Ga., and another public ceremony, officiated by Sharpton, a day later at the James Brown Arena there.
